Arūnas Degutis

Arūnas Degutis has held a distinguished career in Lithuanian public life, diplomacy, and civic engagement. He began his political career as a Member of the Lithuanian Parliament following the country’s first free elections in March 1990, becoming a signatory of the Act of Independence of March 11, 1990. During his time in Parliament, he served on the Foreign Affairs Committee, contributing to the country’s early diplomatic direction.
In 1995, he co-founded the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania and served on its board, helping strengthen transatlantic business ties during Lithuania’s transition to a market economy. From 1999 to 2001, he served as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Business and Foreign Investment, supporting reforms to enhance Lithuania’s economic competitiveness and international engagement.
Between 2004 and 2009, he represented Lithuania in the European Parliament as a member of the ALDE political group, focusing on European integration, security, and economic policy.
Since 2025, he has served on the Board of the Lithuanian Riflemen Association, a prominent civic and paramilitary organisation focused on national defence, resilience, and patriotic education.
