Dr George Robakidze

Dr George Robakidze is an experienced diplomat and political scientist with over 20 years of experience in international relations, conflict resolution, and European integration. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the EU Awareness Centre in Brussels. Previously, he held key positions at the State Minister’s Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Georgian representations abroad, including the Mission of Georgia to NATO and the Embassy of Georgia to the Slovak Republic. Throughout his career, George has been recognised for his expertise in fostering diplomatic relations, promoting democratic reforms, and addressing security challenges. He has played a key role in shaping EU-Georgia relations, actively participating in negotiations on the European Neighbourhood Policy, Association Agreement and Eastern Partnership. Dr Robakidze holds a PhD in Political Science from Caucasus International University. He is the author of the book “Rise of the Populist and Radical Parties in the Visegrad Four (V4) Countries: Causes, Tendencies, and Possible Consequences” and has published lengthily on European integration, security policy, and regional geopolitics. Fluent in Georgian, English, German, and Russian, as well as proficient in French, George combines academic rigour with practical diplomatic experience to advance international cooperation and integration.
