EU Awareness Centre at the Vienna Humanities Festival 2026
EU Awareness Centre Chairman Ambassador David Dondua participated in various events of the Vienna Humanities Festival 2026, held in Vienna, Austria, from 23 to 27 September.
Organised by the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM), the festival brought together scholars, writers, journalists and public intellectuals for lectures, expert discussions and public debates addressing some of the major challenges facing contemporary societies. The 2026 programme included nearly 40 events and explored questions ranging from democracy, political manipulation and technology to Europe’s future, human agency and the changing public sphere.
Participation in such open public debates is closely aligned with EUAC’s mission to strengthen democratic resilience and public understanding of Europe. The exchange of ideas across academia, policy and civil society is particularly important at a time when information manipulation, technological change and growing political polarisation are reshaping the European public sphere.
