The EU Awareness Centre promotes democratic governance, the rule of law, and the fundamental values of the European Union in Eastern Europe, with particular attention to Georgia. While Georgia constitutes the organisation’s primary geographical focus, the Centre also extends its activities to other countries engaged in the process of European integration.
The Centre’s work is based on the research and analysis of political, social, and information processes that affect democratic development, European integration, and regional cooperation. Particular attention is devoted to examining stereotypes, historical narratives, and disinformation stemming from the Soviet and post-Soviet legacy when these contribute to undermining trust in democratic institutions, manipulating public opinion, or distorting the process of European integration.
Through research, analytical work, public advocacy, and educational initiatives, the Centre provides policymakers, civil society, the media, and the wider public with verified, evidence-based information. Our activities include the preparation of research and analytical publications, the organisation of expert discussions and public events, the development of policy recommendations, information campaigns, and educational programmes.
One of the Centre’s key areas of work is strengthening societal resilience to information manipulation and disinformation. By promoting critical thinking and media literacy, as well as expanding access to reliable information, the EU Awareness Centre seeks to foster informed public debate, democratic participation, and societal resilience grounded in European values.
