EU Awareness Centre
Knowledge Against Manipulation

Our Mission

Vision

A Europe where democratic values, rule of law, and human rights are universally upheld — and where every nation aspiring to join the European family has the knowledge, support, and political conditions to do so.

Mission

To strengthen democratic resilience and promote European integration by delivering rigorous, independent research; countering disinformation with evidence-based analysis; and connecting policymakers, civil society, and the public with the expertise they need to make informed decisions.

Key Areas of Work

01

Counter-Disinformation

Identifying, analysing, and rebutting disinformation campaigns targeting Eastern European societies, with a focus on pro-Kremlin narratives and anti-EU messaging that undermine democratic progress.

02

Connecting Expertise

Building bridges between European institutions, think tanks, and local civil society — creating networks that translate expert knowledge into actionable policy recommendations.

03

Knowledge Sharing

Publishing accessible, high-quality analysis — policy briefs, commentaries, EU Unpacked explainers — that equips citizens, journalists, and decision-makers with reliable information.

04

Supporting EU Accession

Providing research support and public advocacy for candidate and aspiring countries navigating the EU accession process — helping governments and societies understand what integration requires and entails.

05

Facilitating Political Support

Engaging with European parliamentarians, member state officials, and Brussels-based institutions to build sustained political will for the democratic transformation of EU-aspiring nations.

Our Values

Truth & Transparency

We publish only what we can verify and stand behind. Our methodologies are open; our funding is disclosed.

European Democratic Principles

Rule of law, separation of powers, free press, and fundamental rights are not policy preferences — they are the foundation of our work.

Independence & Integrity

Our analysis is never for sale. We accept no funding that conditions our findings and maintain full editorial independence from donors, governments, and political parties.

Collaboration

We work with partner organisations, experts, and institutions across Europe, recognising that durable democratic change requires collective effort.

Public Service

Our ultimate measure of success is the quality of public debate and the strength of democratic institutions in the societies we serve.

Resilience & Courage

We do not shy away from difficult truths or powerful adversaries. Intellectual courage is inseparable from our mission.
