Statement on the Armenia–Azerbaijan Peace Initiative Facilitated in Washington

Yesterday in the Oval Office, Armenia and Azerbaijan, with the facilitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, took a historic step toward peace. This statement is more than a document; it is a promise of a safer, more hopeful future for the South Caucasus.

We at the EU Awareness Centre celebrate this moment, the courage shown by Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev, and the role President Trump played in bringing them together.

May this be the start of lasting trust, open dialogue, and shared prosperity for the entire region. We hope Georgia will soon take its place alongside its neighbours on the path toward a free and Western-oriented future.
