EU Awareness Centre at International Democracy Day Brussels 2026

On 17 September 2026, Dr George Robakidze, Executive Director of the EU Awareness Centre, participated in International Democracy Day Brussels (IDD Brussels) at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels.

Held under the theme “What’s Next for Democracy? Innovation and Alliances in a Changing World,” the conference brought together policymakers, civil society representatives, researchers and democracy practitioners to discuss democratic resilience, information integrity, foreign interference, inclusive participation and new approaches to supporting democracy.

The EU Awareness Centre followed the discussions with particular interest in the challenges facing democratic resilience and information integrity in Europe and its Eastern Neighbourhood.
