Vienna Dialogue 2025 — Moldova’s Democratic Resilience
On November 6, 2025, representatives from Moldova and Austria gathered in Vienna for the Vienna Dialogue 2025, a high-level strategic event that highlighted Moldova’s successful defence of its September 2025 parliamentary elections against unprecedented Russian disinformation and interference.
The dialogue, organised by the Moldova4EU Diaspora Task Force, brought together Moldovan officials, civil society leaders, media representatives, and international partners to reflect on Moldova’s resilience and continued progress toward European integration.
The event featured a keynote address by Ambassador Pamela Hyde Smith, former U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, and presentations from leading Moldovan experts on institutional, media, and diaspora-led efforts to protect democracy in the face of hybrid threats.
David Dondua, Chair of the EU Awareness Centre, attended the dialogue and congratulated Moldovan friends and colleagues on their country’s democratic transformation and remarkable progress on the path to EU integration. He also praised the Moldovan diaspora for its essential role in strengthening democratic resilience and connecting Moldova’s civic energy with the wider European community.
